2026- Things that I am gonna stop buying for now or NEVER buy

I have been binge watching a lot of video of project pans and minimalist/ smaller makeup collection, mainly on youtube and bilibili (China creators). Some of my favourite creator are:

  1. Kelly Gooch - I really like how she do a lot of analysis on trends and a different perspective on makeup, decluttering and how marketing works especially for the beauty industry.
  2. Sarah Rose- I like her voice hahah
  3. Lara Likes Mascara
  4. Too Much Tash

One of Sarah Rose's video on sharing what she won't buy after much experimenting with makeup over the years, kinda inspired me and I could relate to most of the things she said.

1.  stop buying face palettes.
Which is something that has came to my attention after I had quite a few of them. The bulkiness is something that throw me off, especially nowadays I do my makeup in the car, I need my makeup bag to be as simple as possible and lightweight, which means i only want the essentials in them.

2. No more LARGE eyeshadow palettes (
In the recent years, I have preferred something that is small and curated. Right after I tried more Japanese makeup, I really like the simplicity of small theme palettes.

3. Colourful Eyeshadow
Now I have my fair play and fun of these colourful shadows, I think I no longer wanted to experiment more, however I do allow myself to purchase colour nail polish since it's something I can accept the to be a bit more out of the ordinary more.

4. No More deep coloured blush
I would say same as after experimenting so much, pink, muted mid tone blush are more of my thing and it's safer for everyday use. shimmer blush also not much of my thing. Or maybe I still need more tries to cope with the idea that I have shimmer over my cheeks than only just my cheekbone.

--.-.-.--.-.-.-.
Recently I'm making a digital wardrobe to record my clothes as well. I feel my my wardrobe is bursting like seriously. At the end of this year, I'm gonna start to plan to move into my new house. Slowly but surely I want to take my time and declutter stuff as I go.

As from yesterday, I have just sold my makeup/ skincare storage unit that look like this

My reason of selling this is because I realize when I try to reach into the items at the back, things always falls around and it is frustrating. Right now, I have made things simplier into one storey open box using biscuit box and small box as compartment so things don't move around. As well as to use up certain items that I have

2026 Eyeshadow collection

So I have been counting my eyeshadows and updating the status since last time I updated was 2023. I mainly categorise into 3 part: Large palettes, small palettes and magnetic self made palettes from depotted eyeshadows. With 2 eyeshadow cream stick by the side.

For magnetic palettes: I have 6. Now that I look at it a lot are neutral shades. To be honest I dunno how long it will take me to go thru these shadow. But I guess that’s how it is.

Large palettes I have 9. In compare to 2023, the newer additions are 3 flower knows palettes, dramo China brand colourful eyeshadow. HUDA beauty rose gold. I’m thinking I need to use more of these palette shadows. And hit more pan. List of large shadow palettes
  1. Huda Beauty Rose Quartz
  2. Tartelette in Bloom
  3. Too Faced Sweet Peach
  4. Flower Knows Angel Series
  5. Flower Knows Shepperd Girl
  6. Flower Knows Strawberry Roccoco
  7. Seatalk
  8. Anastasia Subculture
  9. Dramo Colourful

Lastly, small eyeshadow palette I have 12. Mostly are pretty old, newer additions are the Japanese eyeshadows that I bought during Apr 2024 Japan trip.
1. Excel cx04
2. Canmake plumpuku 01
3. Canmake plumpuku 02
4. Canmake plumpuku 03
5.Canmake Soufflé eyes M06

Over view and thoughts: I have so much eyeshadows that I start to feel overwhelm. As much as I would like to count how much I have used, or whether I have touch these shadows or not, it can feel a bit stress and I feel like I shouldn't be stress over these things that enlighten me in my daily life. So here's how I plan to use up/ pan eyeshadows while giving love to other palettes in general.

As I do my makeup without good lighting in my car during my work day, it's hard for me to experiment with different shadows that I'm not familiar with. So my plan is, during my work day, I stick to my regular magnetic tarte small palette that has the basic shades such as: cream base, 2 brown crease, one dark brown for outer eye and one for eyebrow. Which totals up to 5 shadow.   Meanwhile I will try to switch around for shimmer shadow and glitter topper.

I will say to myself that it's ok that I don't use the larger palettes much as it add anxiety to me if I can't do my make up nice and suitable for daily work. I want to have my makeup done but still presentable.

Over the years, I have experiment much. On western eyeshadow, to popular Japan drugstore eyeshadow, maybe haven't try much on korean eyeshadow, maybe in the future? but for now, after trying out so much stuff, I would say am contented with where I am, and certainly not a big fans of overly pigmented eyeshadows as it can mess up easily. As I go thru the age of 30+, I certainly felt like I want to start to declutter stuff and keep my makeup collection more orientated.

2026 highlighter collection

 7+1or 6 ( becca highlighter palette)

I have recently found a way to use it. By mixing all the colours together it gives a nice champagne gold tone that fits well on my skintone.

Wet n wild blushlighter was given by my friend.

I have gifted 2 of my pony highlighter to my colleague and my sister. Now that I realise, that a lot of my highlighter are in palette form. The highlighter in NARS palette is not very bright. it's very subtle that I rather use as eyeshadow base. I don't need to buy another highlighter anymore until i got non left.

Face products Collection 2026

 Here's a comparison of 2023 into 2025 changes

2023: Total of 16 products

2025, total: 13 products. Which is pretty good.

Face Setting Powder- 3. Coty AirSpun, Neuve powder, Srichand Setting powder. The Snow beauty powder should be gone anytime soon, so I won't count that number in.

Powder Foundation- 2.  Silkygirl foundation powder, and Astalift. The Silky Girl powder was gifted when I purchase something on Carousell. Had just a very tiny bit.

Powder Concealer - 1  Lilylolo, not sure if I did finish one up? can't find the other. Maybe I really did finish up but I can't recall.

Liquid Foundation- 1,  Maybelline foundation that is slight dark tone. but I have found a way to use it regularly as contouring tone.

Primer- 2. Seems like I have manage to keep this number down, tho I was very tempted to buy a lot more when I was in Taiwan. The watson there is a shopping heaven to me. I did able to pull my trigger and only brought a primer backup since I felt the current Integrate face primer I'm finishing up soon.

Concealer- 3. Maybelline, [forgot name] cream concealer and Rimmel. I have been using the rimmel one more consistently in my makeup routine. As it's not very high coverage, but it does brighten up my complexion which I like. Hope fully can finish this this year.

Overall I'm happy with my current collection and numbers. As much I did wanted to buy powder products when I was in Taiwan, I did manage to hold my horse. DAMNNNN it was soooo hard :O

Anyways, here are my goal for this year.

1. After finish up the Snow Beauty Powder, I will work on Coty Airspun Powder. Probably using up 5-10g would be a nice number.

2. Rimmel Concealer. then work on Maybelline concealer.

3. Old integrate Primer

4. maybe that benefit primer that is too mini that always gone missing. lesson: don't buy so MINI primer cuz I can't find it D:

Lipstick Collection 2026

Last 2 years, I did went into a bit of lips frenzy. When I was in Japan in April 2024, I brought 3 lip products, cezanne 102, cezanne matte 02, and visee clear gloss. I do like all of them and switch around using it. But lately I would like to use my lip products more consistently. My goal is to finish Cezanne 105, by using it consistently. Then second goal either use up the Visee gloss or one of L’Oréal lipstick 220 chocolate rouge, which is suitable for every day use. Last year, I did finish up the Fujiko gloss which I liked, it has a grapefruit scent to it. The Vaseline lip balm is from my mom, just for reference and record that I sometimes use before going to sleep. To slowly use it up.

Total lip products I have now: 11

Goal: to finish 2 and don’t buy lip products.

The Sephora lip shine 08 is a bright red I barely use. It was gifted by friend. Just gonna keep it till went off. After my mindless purchase of lip cream products from colourpop back in the days, I now know that lip cream is not my to go lip products. I prefer something more moisturizing.

Atomy Lip Glow was gifted ti me too. It turns into something very pink for my liking. So maybe will keep it as to use before bed as well.

Duo matte n gloss 4U2 pink mood 04 was brought in Thailand in 2024 December. The gloss is very sticky, not to my liking. But colour wise it’s ok and not too drying. It’s Thailand drugstore product. Not sure how long I can keep it but it’s not in my to like to want panning list.

I do use my lipstick as blush too sometimes to haste the usage.

Mascara, eyeliner and brow products_ 2026

2026 has started, and I always like to record my makeup collection to make sure I buy less over the time and as a diary to keep track of my collection. I have finished my old mascaras last year, and bought 2 new mascara.

One is Maybelline highly raved Sky High Mascara waterproof. The pink tube. It stars well on my upper lashes, but it smudges on my bottom eye lid if apply on my bottom eye lash. So I have  to repurchase one favourite mascara brand, heroine make kiss me mascara, that has been proven to me it doesn’t smudge at all.

I think 2 mascara is the perfect number for me. One to try and test new mascara, one to be my safe choice that I know it won’t let me down.

I also have one in is free browcara that I barely use tbh. Maybe I should set a goal to finish it this year as it has been sitting in my collection for over a year now, and I probably not a big fans nor I find any usage for brow gel items, or maybe just that this doesn’t do much work.

I have 3 brow pencil. Heavy rotation eyebrow pencil is not bad. Innisfree doesn’t stay well on my oily complexion. Dolly wink eyebrow pencil colour 02 is too light for me. Hence haven’t use much till now nor sharpen once.

4 eyeliner. Heroine make waterproof still the best. Loveliner liquid eyeliner the colour is fine but not as long lasting on my oil eye. So I won’t repurchase again although it was very hype. Avance liquid eyeliner was brought I think in 2023 or 2022 during a beauty sale. It’s fine but not as waterproof as I thought it is. So once I finish I won’t repurchase as well.  Le Tresor Eyeliner is very waterproof, got it from an event. But the tip is very tick and hard to draw thin lines.

Total: 2 mascara, 1 browcara, 3 brow pencil, 4 eyeliner.. Goal to finish the browcara and dolly wink eyebrow pencil. The rest are good in numbers and use as they go.
