2026- Things that I am gonna stop buying for now or NEVER buy

I have been binge watching a lot of video of project pans and minimalist/ smaller makeup collection, mainly on youtube and bilibili (China creators). Some of my favourite creator are:

  1. Kelly Gooch - I really like how she do a lot of analysis on trends and a different perspective on makeup, decluttering and how marketing works especially for the beauty industry.
  2. Sarah Rose- I like her voice hahah
  3. Lara Likes Mascara
  4. Too Much Tash

One of Sarah Rose's video on sharing what she won't buy after much experimenting with makeup over the years, kinda inspired me and I could relate to most of the things she said.

1.  stop buying face palettes.
Which is something that has came to my attention after I had quite a few of them. The bulkiness is something that throw me off, especially nowadays I do my makeup in the car, I need my makeup bag to be as simple as possible and lightweight, which means i only want the essentials in them.

2. No more LARGE eyeshadow palettes (
In the recent years, I have preferred something that is small and curated. Right after I tried more Japanese makeup, I really like the simplicity of small theme palettes.

3. Colourful Eyeshadow
Now I have my fair play and fun of these colourful shadows, I think I no longer wanted to experiment more, however I do allow myself to purchase colour nail polish since it's something I can accept the to be a bit more out of the ordinary more.

4. No More deep coloured blush
I would say same as after experimenting so much, pink, muted mid tone blush are more of my thing and it's safer for everyday use. shimmer blush also not much of my thing. Or maybe I still need more tries to cope with the idea that I have shimmer over my cheeks than only just my cheekbone.

Recently I'm making a digital wardrobe to record my clothes as well. I feel my my wardrobe is bursting like seriously. At the end of this year, I'm gonna start to plan to move into my new house. Slowly but surely I want to take my time and declutter stuff as I go.

As from yesterday, I have just sold my makeup/ skincare storage unit that look like this

My reason of selling this is because I realize when I try to reach into the items at the back, things always falls around and it is frustrating. Right now, I have made things simplier into one storey open box using biscuit box and small box as compartment so things don't move around. As well as to use up certain items that I have

2026 Eyeshadow collection

So I have been counting my eyeshadows and updating the status since last time I updated was 2023. I mainly categorise into 3 part: Large palettes, small palettes and magnetic self made palettes from depotted eyeshadows. With 2 eyeshadow cream stick by the side.

For magnetic palettes: I have 6. Now that I look at it a lot are neutral shades. To be honest I dunno how long it will take me to go thru these shadow. But I guess that’s how it is.

Large palettes I have 9. In compare to 2023, the newer additions are 3 flower knows palettes, dramo China brand colourful eyeshadow. HUDA beauty rose gold. I’m thinking I need to use more of these palette shadows. And hit more pan. List of large shadow palettes

Over view and thoughts: I have so much eyeshadows that I start to feel overwhelm. As much as I would like to count how much I have used, or whether I have touch these shadows or not, it can feel a bit stress and I feel like I shouldn't be stress over these things that enlighten me in my daily life. So here's how I plan to use up/ pan eyeshadows while giving love to other palettes in general.

As I do my makeup without good lighting in my car during my work day, it's hard for me to experiment with different shadows that I'm not familiar with. So my plan is, during my work day, I stick to my regular magnetic tarte small palette that has the basic shades such as: cream base, 2 brown crease, one dark brown for outer eye and one for eyebrow. Which totals up to 5 shadow.   Meanwhile I will try to switch around for shimmer shadow and glitter topper.

I will say to myself that it's ok that I don't use the larger palettes much as it add anxiety to me if I can't do my make up nice and suitable for daily work. I want to have my makeup done but still presentable.

Over the years, I have experiment much. On western eyeshadow, to popular Japan drugstore eyeshadow, maybe haven't try much on korean eyeshadow, maybe in the future? but for now, after trying out so much stuff, I would say am contented with where I am, and certainly not a big fans of overly pigmented eyeshadows as it can mess up easily. As I go thru the age of 30+, I certainly felt like I want to start to declutter stuff and keep my makeup collection more orientated.
